In 1972 the club merged with Hawthorn District to become West Hawthorn District Cricket Club; the club reverted to its old name 2 years later. West Hawthorn moved its base to Rathmines Road Reserve in 1989 and adopted the name Hawthorn Cricket Club for the 2002/3 season. BCC was founded on 26 July 1938 and played at Highfield Park in Camberwell. In 1980 the club merged with Riversdale Cricket Club to become Riversdale Boroondara Cricket Club. In 1999 Kooyong Cricket Club joined with Riversdale Boroondara Cricket Club and the club moved to Victoria Road Reserve, East Hawthorn. At that time, the name of the club reverted to Boroondara Cricket Club.
